Abstract
This study investigates the effects of seawater spray cooling on the thermal behavior and infrared signature of ship surfaces. Thermal analysis and infrared signature simulation were conducted for an FF-class naval ship to evaluate the variations in surface temperature and infrared radiance under different seawater spray flow conditions. The results show that applying seawater spray cooling reduces surface temperature and consequently decreases infrared emissions in both MWIR and LWIR bands.
