Abstract
In this study, we propose a hardware commonization approach for four types of weapon control systems installed on the Ulsan-class Batch-IV frigate by applying the K-MOSA concept. Although the four guided weapon types differ in mission characteristics, they require common hardware functions such as signal processing, data computation, and interface management. Based on a literature review and functional analysis, a common hardware platform structure is proposed. The results suggest that the proposed approach improves equipment interoperability, module commonality, and maintenance, development, and production efficiency. This study is meaningful in that it presents a conceptual design direction for the commonization of four types of weapon control systems based on K-MOSA at the research and development phase.
