This paper clearly understood the concept of integrated product support and suggested an optimal application plan for each IPS element. It was suggested that the term ‘materiel’, not ‘system’, should be understood and the product contract based integrated product support activity should be carried out in consideration of the business characteristics. First, it is necessary to develop a product based IPS elements application plan to reduce the cost of the total life cycle. Second, using WBS based on product, the work elements to be performed and the final product are connected. Finally, in terms of sustainment, it is necessary to continuously integrate and apply from the design change of the weapon system to the change within the IPS elements area. To this end, reflecting domestic regulations and establishing an organization is a priority, and through this, it is expected that developmental IPS work will proceed.
