초록

본 연구는 미래 전장 환경에서 우주 영역의 국방 전략 개발의 필요성을 인식하고 이를 발전시키기 위한 방안으로 우주 영역에서의 모델링 및 시뮬레이션(M&S) 기술의 적용을 고찰하였다. 선행 연구 검토를 통해 국방 M&S와 우주 영역에서의 적용 개념을 살펴보고, 우주 영역의 특성과 M&S 적용 시 고려 사항을 분석하였으며, 미국의 국방 우주 M&S 적용 사례를 통해 우리 군의 모델 개발에 적용 가능한 요소와 방법론에 대해 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 내용은 우주 영역에서의 M&S 적용에 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다.

Abstract

This study recognized the necessity of developing defense strategies for the space domain within future battlefield environments, and examines the utilization of modeling and simulation (M&S) technology in this context. Through a review of previous studies, the study delves into the concept of defense M&S and its application to the space domain, analyzes the unique characteristics of space domain along with considerations for M&S application, and illustrates its practical implementation for Republic of Korea military through examples drawn from U.S. defense space M&S system. The study aims to provide foundational insights for the application of M&S in the space domain.
